Get Involved!

Whether you are looking to connect to other YPs, get involved in local government, volunteer your time, or build your professional skills YPC can help you Get Involved.

There are three main ways to get involved with YPC:

• Attend an event
• Join a committee (see below)
• Volunteer your time

We hope that by getting involved you will Join YPC and get all of the benefits of full membership including access to member only events and member discounts.

Committees You Can Get Involved In

One way to get involved in YPC is to participate at the committee level.  Everyone is invited to attend committee meetings, even prospective members, (we hope it will lead to you joining YPC)!

Charitable Committee The goal of the YPC Charitable Committee is to connect young professionals with non-profit organizations throughout the Des Moines metro. We seek to engage, inspire and encourage volunteer efforts to better Greater Des Moines.	Civic Committee The Civic Committee strives to provide opportunities for YPC members to get educated about and involved in various, business, community and governmental activities.
Diversity Committee The YPC Diversity Committee's goals are to Include, Connect, Educate (ICE).  We seek to foster an inclusive environment that promotes social, civic, charitable and diverse opportunities for the board and the YPC membership.	Impact Downtown Committee The YPC Impact Downtown Committee is dedicated to developing the Greater Des Moines area into a culturally thriving destination for young professionals to live, work, and play.
Marketing Committee The Marketing Committee of the Young Professionals Connection is a group of young marketing professionals who work to facilitate communication within YPC as well as between YPC and the public.	Membership Committee The Membership committee is charged with attracting and retaining YPC members. We work on marketing strategies for current members, prospects, and students.
Prof Development Committee The YPC Professional Development Committee strives to provide our members with opportunities for professional growth and networking.	Social Committee The Social Committee is responsible for the many social activities that YPC has throughout the year.
