The 2007 YPC board members presenting Amy Jennings with the first YP of the Year Award
The Amy Jennings YP of the Year Award
The Young Professionals Connection (YPC) and its members are committed to attracting and retaining young professionals to the Greater Des Moines community. This December, the organization will recognize the individual who best exemplifies the leadership qualities of its longest-tenured president, Amy Jennings.
2007 was the inaugural year for the Amy Jennings YP of the Year Award. The award was presented by the YPC board of directors to Amy Jennings after she completed her fourth year of service on the board. It was then proclaimed that the award would be given annually to a young professional who demonstrated the mission of YPC through leadership in professional development, civic, charitable, and social endeavors in Greater Des Moines.
Nomination Process
To be considered for the Amy Jennings YP of the Year Award, an individual must be nominated and should display the YPC spirit of civic involvement, charitable giving, social activity and professional development. The winner of the award will be announced December 10th at YPC’s Annual Meeting.
Seven members make up the award selection committee, which is the main component in deciding the recipient of this annual honor. All nominations will be considered in the selection process and the previous year’s winner is also included on the selection committee to determine the next recipient.
The deadline to submit a nomination form was November 30th, 2008. The nomination form can be completed and submitted electronically with Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Reader. The form can also be mailed in attention to Jessica Maldonado at the Greater Des Moines Partnership, 700 Locust St., Ste. 100, Des Moines, IA 50309, faxed to 515-286-4974, or emailed to JMaldonado@desmoinesmetro.com.
